Free Song Key Finder

Find the musical key of any song, with its Camelot code and BPM. Choose a song file and the key finder analyzes it privately on your device in a few seconds. Free, unlimited and no sign-up.

Why the key of a song matters

Knowing your key helps singers pick a comfortable range, producers layer samples in tune, and DJs mix tracks that blend instead of clash. It is also useful when writing toplines, remixing, or choosing songs for a set.

How the key finder works

  1. Choose an MP3, WAV or M4A file.
  2. We measure the strength of all 12 notes across the song.
  3. That note profile is matched against every major and minor key. If the result is ambiguous we say Not detected instead of guessing.

Camelot codes for DJs

Each result includes a Camelot code. Songs with the same number, or one step apart on the wheel, mix harmonically. Combine it with the BPM shown in the same result to plan smooth transitions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the key of a song?

Choose your song file. The key finder measures which notes appear most across the track and matches them to the 24 major and minor keys.

Is the song key finder free?

Yes, free, unlimited and private. The audio never leaves your device.

What is a Camelot code?

The Camelot wheel numbers keys so DJs can mix harmonically. Songs with the same number, or one step apart, blend smoothly.

Why might the key be wrong?

Songs that change key, are mostly drums, or sit between relative keys like C major and A minor can be ambiguous. If we can't call it honestly we show Not detected.

Does it show the BPM too?

Yes, every result includes the tempo.
